Scheme Overview

The sites for the next phase of Corby’s redevelopment in the south of the town centre will include the Crown House office block, the former bus station site and the existing multi-storey car park, together with other poorly utilised town centre spaces and extends to the junction of Westcott Way and Elizabeth Street. The site in the north east of the town centre includes the former TA centre and adjoining properties.

Land Securities is proposing a high quality, retail-led mixed use development alongside Willow Place containing retail, residential and community uses. This will include:

  • A department store
  • Up to 340,000 sq ft of new retail floorspace
  • New residential apartments
  • Two new car parks providing up to 1,600 spaces, including provision for special needs users
  • Improved routes and connections within the town centre to enhance circulation and permeability
  • High quality public realm including improved lighting, street furniture and signage
  • Enhanced pedestrian and vehicular access, including improved waiting areas for public transport users
  • Discrete service areas, with the majority of retail units serviced from underground to reduce vehicle movements in the town centre
  • A community or sports facility
  • Creation of a boulevard along Westcott Way

MAYOR DECLARES WILLOW PLACE
OFFICIALLY OPEN

Willow Place, the first phase of Corby’s regeneration, was formally opened by the Mayor of Corby on Friday, 26 October 2007. New retailers to the town are now open and trading well.
